My TV is still smoking from the flames of that chemistry between Eloise and Dan. 🔥🙌 If this was a different network… you know they would have made a mess with that chocolate at the end. 😏
This movie was GREAT, and I would expect nothing less from writers Tracy Andreen and Kim Beyer-Johnson. Director David Weaver is a Hallmark veteran as well, and it all just came together to make a very sweet story.
It moved a little slow, but not in a bad way, it was just a mellow meandering through love stories which I found comforting, if that makes any sense. Seeing all the different falling in love stories was really cute, but I’m with Dean in the belief that those seem more like coincidences than magic truffles. 🫣
I feel like there was supposed to be more inner turmoil with taking the Cupids public, like it was betraying Opa by getting greedy, but they touched on it and then everything was just fine. Also, they got 700+ orders overnight and she wasn’t rushing to the store to start making them??! 🤨
The grief storyline was really touching, yes I cried, and I thought Lucy’s reaction to her mom’s experience was totally believable. It reminded me of Anthony in Bridgerton S2, but don’t get me started, that adaptation was a travesty. It would have been nice to see a hint at new love for the mom. I felt like they were leading up to that with the cameraman, but then nothing happened. Also, why in the world is she looking at massive houses to move into?
I loved that there was no stupid misunderstanding conflict. I kept waiting for it and was so relieved when it didn’t come. Instead, we got actual honest adult conversations about feelings. It was refreshing.
I know tons of people who gave this five stars, and I debated that. Even though I really liked it and think it was way above par for Hallmark, I’m not dying to watch it again which is my five star criteria.
My biggest complaint about this movie is… who eats little bites of truffles?? They are two bites max, and if we’re being honest, you know it’s usually just one bite! 🍫
